Knoxville Botanical Gardens Greenhouse

+ This project’s intention was to propose a greenhouse & program on an existing site: the Knoxville Botanical Gardens.
+ Focus points were the under-usage and untapped potential of the site and the inclusion of the surrounding community.

+ The ethos of building a greenhouse at the Knoxville Botanical Gardens concerns involving the immediate community. A context analysis reveals that the surrounding neighborhoods ironically are the population visiting the gardens the least. This project is an effort to implement a more inclusive communal space.

+ The greenhouse is strategically placed upon the existing walking path.This is to attract passers by and facilitate the ethos of community.

Site Section
+ The proposal for this greenhouse is a greenhouse / cafe hybrid. Studies prove the frequencies in human voices aid in plant growth.
+ The back porch also oversees a mountain view, possible because this spot sits on a hill.
